Three Canadians Signed

The Calgary Stampeders have signed three national players – defensive lineman Michael Kashak, offensive lineman Justin Lawrence and defensive back Royce Metchie.

All three players finished the 2018 campaign on the Stamps’ practice roster after seeing some game action during the season.

Here is more info on the returning players:

Michael Kashak: In his second season with the Stamps, Kashak dressed for three games. The McMaster University product has played nine games over the past two seasons and has recorded six tackles including two tackles for a loss, six QB pressures and one fumble recovery.

Justin Lawrence: Lawrence appeared in six games as the sixth offensive lineman during his rookie season with the Stamps. He was Calgary’s fifth-round selection in the 2018 draft after earning first-team all-Canadian honours with the University of Alberta in 2017.

Royce Metchie: The Stamps’ third-round selection in 2018, Metchie played in seven games this past season and recorded five special-teams tackles. He recorded 108 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble over four seasons at the University of Guelph.
