CALGARY, AB - JULY 29, 2017: The Calgary Stampeders won 60-1 gainst the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at McMahon Stadium on Saturday night. Members of the Stampeders’ 1992 Grey Cup-championship team attended the Legacy Tailgate, presented by Coors Light, prior to the game and were recognized during halftime as part of Legacy Night.
TORONTO — With the 2018 season in the books, work begins on 2019 planning for the nine CFL teams. In addition to February’s free agent deadline, clubs are prepping for March’s Combine season which will eventually lead up to May’s Draft.
The Toronto Argonauts and general manager Jim Popp hold all the cards this year with the first overall pick in the draft and the priority selection order in each following round with the exception of round eight.
The Montreal Alouettes would have owned the second overall pick but forfeited their first overall selection to take Oregon offensive lineman Tyler Johnstone last summer in the Supplemental Draft.

Johnstone signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2016 after going undrafted that year but spent the entire season on the injured list before being released. Johnstone was an invite at the NFL Combine where he benched 24 reps.
A former Oregon Duck, Johnstone anchored the offensive line at left tackle in 39 career games en route to being named a first team All Pac-12 and second team All American.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers own two first round picks, selecting fourth and fifth before picking again with the 14th overall spot.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who have stockpiled picks via trades the last couple of years, will own five of the first 22 picks in the Draft.
