Stamps Add Four To Rookie Camp Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive backs Reese Fleming and Mike Stevens, international receiver Josh Huff and international defensive lineman Rickey Neal.

All four players will report for rookie camp next week at McMahon Stadium:

Reese Fleming

Fleming signed as an undrafted free agent with the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017 and suffered a knee injury in Tampa Bay’s second pre-season game that year. He was signed to the Bucs’ practice roster on Nov. 29, 2017. Fleming was a graduate transfer at West Virginia for his senior season in 2016 and made 48 tackles including two tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.
Before transferring, he played three seasons at Iowa and tallied 31 tackles, five pass breakups and one forced fumble in 33 games for the Hawkeyes.

Huff was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round (86th overall) of the 2014 National Football League draft. He played a total of 34 games for the Eagles in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons. After being released by Philadelphia, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played three games for Tampa Bay during the 2016 season. In 37 career NFL games, Huff had 51 catches for 523 yards and four touchdowns. He joined the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football in January of 2019. In college, Huff played four seasons at Oregon and in 49 games for the Ducks he accumulated 144 catches for 2,366 yards and 24 touchdowns. He added 18 carries for 242 yards and two majors and 43 kickoff returns for 988 yards. During his senior season, he reached personal bests in all categories with 62 receptions for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 games. Huff had six 100-yard games in 2013 including 186 yards – along with three touchdowns – in the annual Civil War game against Oregon State.

Neal attended rookie mini-camp with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He played four seasons at the University of Northern Iowa and saw action both at defensive end and linebacker. In 47 games for the Panthers, he made 142 tackles including 39 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, eight forced fumbles, one interception and five pass breakups. He earned second-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference honours in 2017 after leading the conference with 9.5 sacks.

Stevens attended rookie camp with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers in 2018. He then signed with the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football. Collegiately, Stevens played four seasons at North Carolina State. In 35 games for the Wolfpack, he recorded 79 total tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss and had three interceptions including one that he returned for a touchdown in a 2016 game against Clemson.
