The Calgary Stampeders will play their second and final pre-season game on Friday with a visit to Vancouver to face the BC Lions. The matchup will be broadcast on TSN and can be heard on 770 CHQR radio with kickoff set for 8 p.m. MDT.

These two teams have met in the pre-season in each of the past six seasons with both sides winning of three occasions.

Calgary was victorious 37-1 at home last week over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the team’s 2019 debut. The Stamps had eight players record a rushing attempt and 11 players credited with a reception. Meanwhile, the Lions have not played since a May 26 defeat in Edmonton by a score of 22-7.

Friday will mark the first time Lions head coach DeVone Claybrooks will be facing his former squad. Claybrooks won two Grey Cups as an assistant coach with the Stamps from 2012-18 after suiting up as a player for Calgary from 2009-11. In addition, receiver Lemar Durant and linebacker Maleki Harris should hit the field for the first time with BC since departing the Stampeders during the off-season.

Expected to make their season debuts for the Red and White are Shane Bergman, Ka’Deem Carey, Don Jackson and Riley Jones.

In 2018, the Stamps went 2-1 against the Lions in regular-season play including a Week 21 win which sealed a first-place finish in the West Division.

Week 1 for Calgary will see the Ottawa RedBlacks at McMahon Stadium on Saturday, June 15. BC will begin their regular-season campaign next Saturday as well when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are at BC Place.
