Two Added To Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added a pair of players to their practice roster – American defensive back Jonathan Moxey and American defensive lineman Azeem Victor.

Moxey was signed by the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and spent time on the Bucs’ practice roster. He joined the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad later that season. Moxley attended training camp with the Cardinals in 2018 and was added to Arizona’s practice roster in December.

Moxey played four seasons at Boise State and in 52 career games including 38 starts for the Broncos, he recorded 134 total tackles including 5.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions. Moxey also had one sack, one forced fumble, 31 pass breakups and 12 kickoff returns for 258 yards and an average of 21.5 yards per return. He earned second-team all-Mountain West honours in 2016 after leading the team with 13 pass breakups and making 50 total tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss.

Victor was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round (216th overall) of the 2018 NFL draft and spent time on the practice rosters of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks during the 2018 season. He then joined the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football.

In college, Victor played 42 games and made 26 starts over four seasons at Washington. He finished his career with 197 tackles including 14 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 11 knockdowns and one interception returned for a 27-yard touchdown. He was named honourable mention all-Pac 12 in 2015 and first-team all-Pac 12 in 2016.
