Stamps Lead At Halftime!

It’s been a promising start.

Not just for the Stampeders, but for backup quarterback Nick Arbuckle, too.

Following two quarters, the Red & White lead the Saskatchewan Roughriders 15-3 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

And Halfway through the first start of his career Arbuckle has gone 10-for-13 and thrown for 110 yards so far.

The Stamps got on the board on their first possession, as running back Ka’Deem Carey dove into the endzone to cap off a fantastic opening drive – recording his first CFL touchdown.

However, the Red & White missed a two-point convert attempt following the major.

The touchdown would be the only scoring drive of the first as the Stampeders defence kept Saskatchewan off the board – sacking Riders quarterback Cody Fajardo twice while they were at it, too.

Rene Paredes opened the second quarter with a field goal to push the Stamps lead to 9-0.

Riders kicker Gabriel Ferraro answered back with one of his own the following drive for the Riders’ first score of the evening.

But, Paredes was quick to restore a nine point Stampeder lead with a 50-yard field goal the next possession.

It didn’t take long to get the ball back after, as Tre Roberson picked his fourth interception of the season less than four minutes later. Paredes would use the extra possession to tack another three points on for the Stamps after a 39-yard field goal.

Red & White Defensive end Chris Casher would record his second sack of the evening two plays later – resulting in a turnover on downs with just over one minute remaining in the half.
