When did you start playing football?

I was twelve when I started, my cousin told me to play. I quit right away, because the physicality of the game wasn’t for me. I liked basketball I thought I was going to the NBA at the time, you couldn’t have told me different. But I wanted to give it another shot when I was fifteen, my dad wasn’t to happy about me quitting in the first place and that summer I found out I was good at it.

What is your favourite thing about the game of football?

Second to winning, being a part of a team. Nothing in life will ever compare to my high school locker room, my college locker room and this locker room right here. Definitely the comradery amongst the team, they’re my brothers, my family – that’s the best part about football.

What is your favourite drill and why?

My favourite drill is footwork of course, I like to make sure my feet are right, it’s what helps me get better.

Who has been you biggest football mentor?

Lester Erb, he was my running back coach when I was in Nevada, he was my college coach. We bumped heads in the beginning but it was only for the best of me. He’s always been a guy that made sure I’m doing things the right way, and approaching work the right way. He instilled those values in me a long time ago and they’re still here.

What is the funniest thing you’ve ever seen on a football field?

In college, one of my teammates wasn’t supposed to be on the field so he decided when he was running off the field to run to the other team’s sideline instead of ours. And it was on ESPN, it was hilarious. The coach was yelling at him, ‘hey why is he over here!” He just stood still, trying not to get seen, I’m like ‘you’re 6’3 bro!’

If you could have been there for one event in history, what would it be?

I wish I got to go listen to Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream speech. To feel the environment, feel the crowd, the energy and the culture.

If you could have lunch with any three people – dead or alive – who would you pick?

J. Cole, Bob Marley, and Malcolm X.

If you won $10 million, what would be your first purchase?

Properties. I’d sell them, get a business going.
