Make it four straight wins for the Red & White.

Calgary (9-4) head into a Bye Week with a 23-16 road  victory over the Toronto Argonauts at BMO Field.

The Stampeders came out strong, tallying two touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead early.

Terry Williams was the first man to hit paydirt, scampering 24 yards to the house on a pitch from quarterback Nick Arbuckle.

After an interception by safety Royce Metchie, running back Ka’Deem Carey made his way to the house on an 11-yard pass from Bo Levi Mitchell.

Calgary added two Rene Paredes field goals, putting themselves up 20-3 going into the half.

Toronto battled back in the second half, holding the Stampeders offence to a single field goal, while adding two of their own and a Derel Walker touchdown.

Calgary would hold on, using their final drive to kill the remaining seconds.

Bo Levi Mitchell finished the game 33/48 with 346 yards and a touchdown, while Eric Rogers led the receiving core with eight catches and 119 yards.

The defence was a major factor for the Stampeders in this game, especially the defensive line, as they put pressure on the Argos’ quarterback all night long. Mike Rose and Derek Wiggan both finished with a pair of sacks, while Chris Casher and Da’Sean Downey each had one of their own.

With the win, Calgary now waits on the result of Saturday’s BC Lions-Ottawa RedBlacks game, as a RedBlacks loss you clinch a playoff berth for the Red & White.

Upcoming after the Bye Week is another road match-up against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday, October 5th.
