The Calgary Stampeders have an opportunity to secure a home playoff game for an eighth consecutive season when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Week 20 action.

A victory would allow the Stamps (11-5) to clinch at least second place in the West Division. Winnipeg (10-7) needs a victory to keep their hopes of hosting a playoff game alive. Saskatchewan (11-5) is also in the battle for one of top two spots in the West standings and the chance to host a playoff game.

This is the third meeting of the season between the Stamps and Blue Bombers with each team having one home-field win to its credit. Winnipeg prevailed 26-24 at IG Field in Week 9 while Calgary was a 37-33 winner last week at McMahon Stadium.

Four different quarterbacks have made a start in the two previous matchups. Nick Arbuckle was under centre for the Stamps and Matt Nichols led the way for the Bombers in early August while Calgary and Winnipeg respectively turned to Bo Levi Mitchell and Chris Streveler on Saturday.

The Stamps are 4-3 on the road and 7-1 against the West so far this season. The Blue Bombers are 7-1 at home and 6-3 against division rivals.

Winnipeg was tied for the league’s best record at the midway mark of the season at 7-2. In the second half of the schedule thus far, the Red and White are tied for the CFL’s top mark at 6-1.

Calgary will wrap up its regular-season schedule with a trip to Vancouver to face the Lions on Saturday, Nov. 2.
