Mitchell Named A Player Of The Month For October

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is one of the Canadian Football League’s players of the month for October.

The 29-year-old Katy, Tex., product averaged 362 passing yards in four October games and had 10 touchdown passes compared to only three interceptions. For the month, Mitchell completed 107 of 148 passes – a 72.3-per cent completion rate – for 1,449 yards.

The two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player had a 464-yard performance against Montreal on Oct. 5 and also cracked the 300-yard mark in both ends of a home-and-home series against the Blue Bombers, accumulating 337 yards on Oct. 19 at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium and 350 yards on Oct. 25 at Winnipeg’s IG Field. He fell just short of 300 in his other October outing, throwing for 298 yards in an Oct. 11 victory over Saskatchewan.

For the season, Mitchell has started 10 games and completed 254 of 377 passes for 3,181 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Stampeders have a 7-3 record in his 10 starts.

Mitchell is the first Stamp to earn a CFL player-of-the-month award in 2019. Calgary players have been honoured as a player of the week on a total of six occasions.
