The Calgary Stampeders have signed American receiver James Quick.

Quick attended training camp with the National Football League’s Washington Redskins in 2017 and saw pre-season action, making five catches for 54 yards. He was released on Sept. 2, 2017. After two seasons away from the sport, he returned to the field in 2019 with the Alliance of American Football’s Atlanta Legends in 2019. He played six games for Atlanta and had 10 catches for 98 yards, one carry for five yards and four punt returns for 37 yards.

In college, Quick played four seasons at Louisville and had 126 career catches for 2,032 yards and 14 touchdowns. Quick also had three carries for 17 yards and returned 20 punts for 148 yards and eight kickoffs for 156 yards. During his senior season, he earned third-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference honours after posting career highs in catches (45), yards (769) and touchdowns (six).
