For the 100th time since 1954, the Stamps will play host to the BC Lions in CFL action when the West Division rivals duel on Thursday night.

The Stamps are 12-2 in their 14 most recent battles with BC and 8-2 in the 10 latest meetings at McMahon, winning at least one home game against the Lions in every season since 2012.

Back in 2019, the Red and White had a receiver surpass 100 yards in each game against BC – Markeith Ambles in Week 3 and Hergy Mayala in Week 21 – and forced a total of five turnovers.

Both teams are looking for their first win of the new season after losing their respective Week 1 openers by a combined seven points. The Lions’ valiant comeback effort fell short in Saskatchewan while the Stampeders could not hold on to a late lead over the visiting Argos.

In Regina on Friday, quarterbacks Michael Reilly and Nathan Rourke spilt reps under centre and Lucky Whitehead accumulated 136 receiving yards including a 75-yard touchdown.

Meanwhile, last Saturday, all five starting receivers for Calgary had at least four receptions, DaShaun Amos saved a score with a chase-down forced fumble and Charlie Moore, in his CFL debut, blocked a punt before securing the loose ball.

Calgary and BC will square off two more times this year with a pair of showdowns in a four-week span, both taking place in Vancouver.

Olympians honoured

A contingent of Canadian Olympians from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be celebrated in a pre-game ceremony.

Rene Paredes milestone acknowledgment

In recognition of the 400th made field goal of his career, a special video tribute will be played.

Hall of Fame Night

The Hall of Fame inductees for both the 2020 and 2021 class with ties to the Stampeders will be commemorated at halftime with a video tribute. The 2020 class featured quarterback Henry Burris, offensive lineman Freddie Childress, current president and general manager John Hufnagel in the builders’ category, and former University of Calgary and Stampeders quarterback Greg Varva for his contributions to the University of Calgary Dinos. This year’s group includes defensive lineman Will Johnson, receiver Nik Lewis and Doug Mitchell – a former Canadian Football League commissioner and currently a member of the Stamps’ executive committee who will be inducted as a builder.
