“Feels Like a Breath of Fresh Air”

Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund

This win just feels like a breath of fresh air.

I felt like there was a lot of outside talk about us lately and Dave said to us a couple weeks ago not to feel the pressure from the outside, but to feel the pressure from the inside. Meaning that we’ve all got each other’s back and to feel the pressure to make that play and even if you don’t, your brother will make it for you.

I feel like getting a game like that under our belt right now, going into our next game and then going into a bye week, gives us a little bit of time to rest up and take over the second half of the season.

I think it was really good for us.

For the defence, obviously we got pressure on the quarterback. The DBs played really well and played instinctively. I thought our biggest difference was just our energy, you could just feel it throughout the entire game and throughout the warm up.

I felt like we just wanted it more than any game we’ve played in before and no matter if it was a big play, little play, any play on the defence we were all celebrating together as brothers and I think that’s what kind of swung it in our direction for us.

We discussed a few things and one major emphasis that we wanted to focus on was running to the ball, getting to the ball and I feel like that focus and everyone thinking we’ve got to get to the ball, it kind of just happened.

Players making plays, everyone being excited for everyone else, on and off the sidelines, I think it just kind of happened naturally and I think that it was important for us to get a game where we come together and it seems like everyone’s making plays.

To get a win out of it was really what we needed.

We want to make an impact defensively and we just want to have fun. We want to celebrate with each other and we just want to keep that energy up.

We know we have to turn it up a notch because there’s always more you can get out of a game, out of preparation, but if we just go into Hamilton with that same approach, I’m sure everything will be fine.
