Squaring off for the second time in as many weeks, the Calgary Stampeders aim to secure the season series over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday with a trip to Regina.

The Stamps are 6-1 in Saskatchewan dating back to 2011 including 3-1 at the new Mosaic Stadium.

In Week 9, Calgary held on to a much-needed victory with a 23-17 home-field triumph over the Riders.

The Red and White jumped out to an early 14-0 lead with touchdowns on their opening two drives as quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell had his first two-TD performance of the season. Yurik Bethune and Andrew Seinet-Spaulding registered quarterback sacks and Jonathan Moxey made a game-clinching pick as the Stamps moved to 3-5 on the year.

In the loss for Saskatchewan, Fajardo had 44 pass attempts and connected with Kian Shaffer-Baker on a 71-yard heave, but the visitors only found the end zone on one occasion and slipped to 5-3.

So far in 2021, the Stampeders and Roughriders have each conceded 166 points while averaging 20.1 and 19.9 points scored respectively. Both squads will host two more contests this season and have four road fixtures remaining.

Calgary is 1-2 on the road so far in 2021 and 2-3 against the West Division. The Roughriders are 4-1 on the road and are also 2-3 against divisional opponents.

These two sides will tussle for a third and final time when the Riders return to Southern Alberta on Saturday, Oct. 23.
