Paredes Is Cfl’s Top Performer For Week 11

A six-field goal performance in a road victory over the BC Lions on Saturday earned Calgary Stampeders kicker Rene Paredes the Canadian Football League’s top performer award for Week 11.

It was the second career game with six field goals for Paredes, who on Saturday was perfect on his nine kicks – six field goals and three extra points – and accounted for 21 points.

Paredes’ three-pointers last week against the Lions included kicks from 45, 42 and 39 yards.

In 10 games this season, the 10-year veteran has accounted for a league-leading 120 points. He also leads the CFL with an 89.7-per cent success rate on field goal tries (35 of 39) and is a perfect 15-for-15 on extra points.

Paredes is the fourth Calgary player this season to be honoured as a CFL top performer as defensive lineman Stefen Banks and receiver Kamar Jorden were recognized in Week 6 and running back Ka’Deem Carey got the nod in Week 10.
