The Calgary Stampeders travel to Vancouver to face the BC Lions on Friday with an opportunity to lock up a position in the 2021 Canadian Football League playoffs. Kickoff for the contest at BC Place is 8:30 p.m. MST.

Calgary (6-6) can clinch at least third place in the CFL’s West Division with a win over the fourth-place Lions (4-8). The Stampeders have won four of their five most recent games including a 39-10 victory at BC Place on Oct. 16 while BC is trying to snap a six-game losing streak.

It’s the third and final meeting of the season between the Stamps and Leos as BC won 15-9 at McMahon Stadium on Aug. 12 and Calgary evened the season series four weeks ago in Vancouver.

With a victory, the Stampeders would extend their franchise record of consecutive seasons with a playoff appearance to 16. Calgary came into the 2021 season with the longest active streak of post-season appearances at 15, which is tied for the fifth-longest in CFL history. Winnipeg, which has already assured itself of playoff participation this season, owns the second-longest active streak at five.

The Stamps were on a bye last week and were most recently in action on Oct. 29 when they won 26-13 in Ottawa. The Lions are coming off a 26-18 loss in Hamilton.

Calgary is 4-2 on the road so far in 2021 and 4-4 against the West Division. BC is 1-4 at home and 1-6 against divisional opponents.

Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell needs 81 passing yards to pass Tom Burgess for 17th place on the CFL’s all-time list and 154 to pass Sam Etcheverry for 16th place.
