Stamps Lead At The Half In Bc

It’s a tight battle out west.

With playoff hopes for both teams on the line, it’s a heated matchup this evening at BC Place as the Stampeders lead the lions 16-13 at halftime.

The Lions got on the board first as Nick Vogel capped off a seven play, 53 yard drive with a 13 yard field goal.

Returning Stamps receiver Reggie Begelton wasted no time in making his presence felt in his 2021 debut. On the Red & White’s first offensive play of the night Begelton recorded his 150th CFL catch for a lengthy 38 yards. The grab set the Stamps up well for a six play march down the field, completed with an endzone connection between Bo Levi Mitchell and Markeith Ambles for a touchdown.

The Lions answered back on the following series with another boot from Vogel, a 39 yard field goal to round out scoring in the first frame.

The next points didn’t come until 8:57 remaining in the second, as Lions QB Nathan Rourke ran a touchdown in for the homeside to wrap up a nine play, 51 yard drive.

It wasn’t long after the Stamps got their second major of the night, courtesy of a 15 yard endzone catch by Begelton on the following series. The convert kick would go wide left.

Rene Paredes kicked his first field goal of the game with just ten seconds remaining in the half from 35 yards out to put the visitors back in the lead after 30.
