The Stamps went into Winnipeg for the second time this season and suffered the same fate.

Calgary fell to the Bombers 31-29 on Thursday night to move to 6-4 on the season in what was a back-and-forth slug fest.

Jake Maier made the start for the Stampeders, he was 23-for-28 for 294 yards and three touchdowns.

On the ground Ka’Deem Carey returned to the lineup, he ran the ball 11 times for 62 yards.

It was Malik Henry through the air, he had seven receptions for 122 yards and three touchdowns.

And on defence Mike Rose was the leader making five tackles and sack which forced a fumble.

The Bombers started quick on Friday night, they drove the ball all the way down the field for a major through the air in under three minutes to begin the game and make it 7-0.

Carey was important early after missing a few games, he grabbed one first down on the ground and then through the air on the Stamps opening drive. Then, Maier found Henry on back to back passes including a 62 yard catch and run into the endzone to tie the game at seven.

The Bombers would put up another seven on their next drive as Zach Collaros found Nic Demski in the endzone to put the score at 14-7 after the first quarter.

Cody Grace found the score sheet via the rouge on the Stamps next drive putting the score at 14-8.

The two teams would then trade field-goals at the midway point of the second quarter making it 17-11.

Calgary would put together a nice drive late in the quarter carried largely by Peyton Logan and Maier who completed 15 straight passes leading to another touchdown pass to Henry. Calgary took the lead 18-17.

There was still some time on the clock and the Bombers drove the field but Brad Muhammad picked off Collaros in the endzone to end the quarter and send the Stamps to the locker-room up one.

The Bombers would regain the lead through the air in the third quarter from close range to make the score 24-18.

It was a short lived lead as Maier led another great drive that ended in Henry’s third receiving touchdown of the night. It was Stampeders 25, Bombers 24.

The Stamps defence stood strong on the next drive and the offence would reward them with more points on the board, this time a Rene Paredes 31 yard field-goal to make the score 28-24.

Winnipeg would not be stopped on their next drive, the two-time defending champs went all the way down the field before Dakota Prukop dove into the endzone from a yard out. With 7:28 to go, it was the Bombers back in front 31-28.

Both defences would get a stop back-to-back before Calgary got the ball with 3:30 to go in the game, after adding another single on their previous drive due to a punt going through the endzone to make it 31-29.

Calgary would go for it on third down and get it, however they were called for holding and pushed back 10 yards and were forced to punt with 2:28 to go.

Winnipeg would string together a couple of first downs and run out the clock for the win as they move to 10-1 on the season.
