Stamps Clinch Playoffs

With Saturday’s 25-11 victory over the BC Lions, the Calgary Stampeders have clinched a spot in the 2022 Canadian Football League playoffs.

With a 9-5 record, the Stamps will earn at least a crossover berth in the East Division playoffs as they are assured of finishing with a better record than the Ottawa Redblacks and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who both have 10 losses.

The Stampeders remain in the thick of the battle for one of the three positions in the West Division playoffs as Saturday’s result pulls Calgary into a tie with BC for second place at 18 points, with the Lions holding a game in hand.

The Stampeders have made the playoffs for a 17th consecutive season, by far the longest active streak in the CFL and tied for the fourth-longest in league history. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the second-longest active string of playoff apperances at six seasons.
