Calgary Stampeders quarterback Jake Maier is one of the Canadian Football League’s top performers for Week 16 following his pinpoint play in Saturday’s road victory over the BC Lions.

The sophomore pivot completed 27 of 33 passes – an 81.8-per cent success rate – for 294 yards with no interceptions to help lead the Stamps to a 25-11 win at Vancouver’s BC Place. Maier also had two carries for 14 yards in the contest.

In helping the Stamps improve their record to 9-5, Maier distributed the ball effectively on Saturday as eight different Stampeders had a reception.

This season, the UC Davis product has seen action in eight games and made five starts, accumulating 1,526 passing yards with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Maier has completed 76.4 per cent of his passes and has a passer rating of 116.6.

This marks the eighth time this season a Stamps player has been recognized as a CFL top performer.
