It wasn’t an ideal start for Calgary on Friday night as after a couple of first downs on their opening drive, Maier threw an interception that led to a Hamilton field goal to put them up 3-0 early.

Calgary was able to drive the ball down into Tiger-Cats territory on their next drive, but Maier threw his second straight interception. It didn’t however, lead to any points from Hamilton.

The Stampeders finally found the scoreboard on their next drive. Maier was patient in the pocket and found William Langlais in the endzone to give Calgary the 7-3 lead after the first quarter, and Langlais’ first offensive touchdown of his career.

Maier threw his third interception of the first half late in the second quarter and it was taken all the way back for a Hamilton touchdown. After the extra point and a rouge on the ensuing kickoff they led 11-7.

Rene Paredes and Hamilton kicker Seth Small traded field-goals late in the first half to make the score 14-10 Tiger-Cats at the midway-point.

Hamilton took very little time to get down the field out of the break. It ended with a Dane Evans one-yard rushing touchdown to extend their lead to 21-10.

Calgary pushed back on their first drive of the half managing a 39-yard field-goal to make the score 21-13.

Hamilton got points once again on their next drive as they put one through the uprights and extended their lead to 24-13.

Maier completed four-straight passes on the Stamps next drive eventually leading to a Tre Odoms-Dukes eight-yard touchdown reception making the score 24-20.

Paredes kicked one high into the wind on the kickoff after the touchdown and it bounced right into Tyson Middlemost’s hands leading to a Stampeders field-goal to start the fourth quarter.

The score was 24-23 early in the fourth.

The Stamps defence did their job once again in this one, Jameer Thurman forced a fumble with Lemon jumping on it at the Hamilton 39-yardline. Calgary only managed to move the ball about six-yards.

Paredes once again came out and hit from 41-yards.

The Stamps took the lead 26-24 with under seven-minutes to go in the game.

Hamilton was able to drive into Calgary territory thanks in part to an illegal contact call against the Stampeders on second-down. Small kicked another field-goal for the Ti-Cats to give them the lead 27-26.

Calgary was unable to move the ball on their next drive and had to punt with just under three-minutes to go but were able to stop Hamilton on their own 21-yardline on a questionable call to go for it on third-and-one.

The Stamps got the ball down to the Hamilton one-yardline with 1:07 left and Tommy Stevens plunged it in to give Calgary the lead. They would go for two and not get it leaving the score 32-27 Calgary.

Lawrence Woods returned the ball to midfield on the kickoff. Hamilton had 52-seconds to score a touchdown and they did just that. Tim White caught two straight balls to get in the endzone. The Tiger-Cats were successful on a two-point attempt making the score 35-32 with 11-seconds remaining.

Calgary was unable to score on the kickoff, ending the game.
