Reliable Reggie
Anyone will tell you that no spot on the roster is ever guaranteed. But in what was a disappointing 2024 campaign, Reggie Begelton was arguably the Stampeders brightest light.
The seven-year vet consistently produced on the field no matter who was throwing him the ball. His team-leading 1,150 receiving yards and 92 catches earned him league all-star honours for the third time in his career.
He had more than 100 yards receiving on three occasions. In a Week 18 matchup against the Lions, Begelton cracked the club’s all-time Top 10 in receiving yards and by the end of the year surpassed Marquay McDaniel for the ninth spot.
- Allen Pitts – 14,891 (1990-2000)
- Nik Lewis – 11,250 (2004-14)
- Tom Forzani – 8,285 (1973-83)
- Travis Moore – 7,536 (1994, 1996-2002)
- Herm Harrison – 6,693 (1964-72)
- Dave Sapunjis – 6,586 (1990-96)
- Vince Danielsen – 6,086 (1994-2001)
- Ken-Yon Rambo – 5,995 (2005-11)
- Reggie Begelton – 5,595 (2017-present)
- Marquay McDaniel – 5,555 (2012-17)
Begelton was voted by his teammates as the recipient of the President’s Ring award for demonstrating excellence on and off the field.
He was already under contract for the 2025 season but signed an extension in December to stay in Red and White through 2026.

Big & Tall
General manager and head coach Dave Dickenson brought in two large targets with veteran CFL experience for QB Vernon Adams Jr. this off-season with the additions of 6-foot-4 Dominique Rhymes and 6-foot-3 Tevin Jones.
This is a different direction for Calgary, who in the past have had a smaller-sized receiving corps consisting of players such as Shawn Bane Jr., Marken Michel, and Tommylee Lewis.
“This is going to be my family and I’m glad to be here.”

Short At Canadian
Of the six departed receivers, half of them were national pass catchers – leaving the Red and White with Jalen Philpot and Clark Barnes as the only Canadian players with CFL experience.
With the first-overall pick in the 2025 CFL Draft, and four selections in the Top 20, it will be interesting to see if the Stampeders brass bulk up their Canadian content at the receiver position.

3 Rookies To Watch
Additionally, the Stamps have brought in eight rookies to compete at camp this year.
- Daylen Baldwin – The 25-year-old Michigan native spent some time with a few NFL clubs over the course of two years. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2022. He saw action in one regular-season game and had two catches for 25 yards. Baldwin then had stops with the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals.
- Mike Harley – Harley has some familiarity with Calgary already – the rookie joined the team in early October of 2024 and finished the season on the practice roster. Previously, the Miami product had attended training camps with the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, and Ottawa Redblacks (2023-24).
- Tykee Ogle-Kellog – Listed at 6-foot-5, Ogle-Kellog would be the tallest receiver entering camp. The 25-year-old played 53 games over six years (2018-23) at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He had 89 catches for 1,358 yards and 15 touchdowns during that span. In 2024, he attended rookie mini-camp with the Washington Commanders.
