The first edition of the Battle of the Prairies kicked off with a bang in some 2026 CFL pre-season action, as the Stamps took down the Roughriders 20-15 at McMahon Stadium on Victoria Day.
The Red & White’s defence showed up with three sacks to go along with an interception. They didn’t give up a touchdown until the fourth quarter with five seconds remaining on the clock.

Vernon Adams Jr. – 3-for-5, 87 yards, TD, INT

Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams – two receptions, 34 yards
Elijah Hills– four tackles, one sack
LB Kyle Wilson snagged a pick in the first quarter of the game to get the momentum going. On the following drive, pivot Vernon Adams Jr. connected with Jalen Philpot on a deep ball for a 70-yard touchdown and the Stamps never looked back.

Second-year Stamps QB Josh Love entered the game in the second quarter, punching in a touchdown after a six play, 64–yard drive to the house with a minute to go before halftime.

The Red & White played four different quarterbacks – along with Ben Woolridge and Jacolby Criswell – in the tilt giving up only one interception en route to the win.
NEXT UP
The Stampeders are on the road on Friday, May 29 to take on the Edmonton Elks at Clarke Stadium for their final pre-season contest.
They will return to McMahon Stadium to kick off their home–opener against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on June 5.
