Stamps Closeout Pre-Season With A Win In Edmonton

The Stamps kicked off the first installment of the Battle of Alberta after a one-hour weather delay with a big 21-18 win at Clarke Stadium on Friday night. 

Calgary closed out their CFL pre-season campaign with 2-0 record, claiming victories over Saskatchewan and Edmonton.

The Red and White played three different quarterbacks in the outing – starting with Josh Love who made his first start for the Stamps throwing seven-for-eight for 80-yards and a touchdown.

Ben Wooldridge punched in a touchdown and Jacolby Criswell made an appearance at pivot scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Love was feeling it from the get-go, throwing a 43-yard beauty to Dante Wright who scored his first-career CFL touchdown.

 Wooldridge took his first snap at pivot midway through the second quarter and punched in his first touchdown in the Red and White to take a 14-8 lead to end the half.

Criswell gave the Stamps some life in the fourth quarter after going down by three. The pivot made a huge 19-yard rushing play to ignite the offence.

 The 24-year-old quarterback ended the drive rushing for a one-yard touchdown to close out the win for Calgary.
