Campbell: We’re a tight group

I thought the game was a very tough game. Every time we come to Edmonton, it’s pretty tough, but we came out and got the victory, so I can’t say anything more.

The Labour Day week games are so close together, so every weakness that we showed in the first game, they’re going to attack them this time out. As a defence, we did a good job making the tackles, but we’ve got to be better on the 50/50 balls.

I have no idea how we survived all of those injuries. I thought we were going to have Marken Michel come out there as a cornerback because of the way that everyone was dropping out with injuries. But we’re a tight group and Adam Thibault stepped up, Tunde Adeleke stepped up and when they came in, we didn’t lose a step and we still played fast.

We have the best quarterback in the game, so if you’ve got a minute and a half left in the game, you don’t have to worry. If you’ve only got that much time left in the game, I’d rather Bo have the ball than the other team have the ball. We all believe in Bo to throw down the field and get a touchdown. We did the job as a defence and stopped them from scoring.

This league is all about explosive plays and the Eskimos kept getting all those yards, but we held them to all those field goals, they kicked a lot of field goals. We gave up one deep ball that lead to a touchdown, but overall we played pretty well on the defensive side of things.
