Three words to describe myself: Optimistic, passionate, motivated
Why I wanted to become an Outrider: I grew up going to Stampeders games with my family, and I always looked up to the beautiful young women who gave so much to the team and the organization. Plus, nothing beats being on the sidelines, and watching the game
Favourite subject in school: Musical theatre
Best concert I’ve been to: Bon Jovi
Proudest achievement to date: I was really proud of myself for getting accepted into law school prior to graduating with my undergraduate degree. I am also very excited to be called to the bar, and call myself a barrister and solicitor in the summer of 2017!
Favourite restaurant: Longview Steakhouse. It’s family owned, with amazing food, and a beautiful view of the Alberta foothills
Greatest fear: I don’t like admitting this, but I am actually afraid of clowns
Ideal place to shop: I like going to outlet malls!
Worst habit: When I’m stressed out, I will pick at the skin around my nails and my cuticles. I’m trying to pay more attention to it to stop!
Favourite iPhone App: It’s hard to choose, but I love my fitness apps. I love getting fresh ideas for workouts and being able to track my progress
Most prized possession: My 2014 Calgary Stampeders Grey Cup Ring! I hardly ever take it off
Top Outrider appearance to attend: I love spending my time volunteering how I can during the Breast Cancer awareness month in October. Several important people in my life have been affected by women’s cancers, and I love being able to support the cause and spread awareness however I can
Talent I most wish I had: I wish I could sing! Growing up I did musical theatre, and I have an extensive dance background, but I couldn’t sing as well as some of my classmates
Reality TV show I’d most like to be on: I would LOVE to be on Chopped Canada. I love watching the Food Network, and I like to think of myself as a foodie. I think I could hold my own and cook something amazing for the judges
Favourite day of the year: I really like Christmas Eve. We do a family dinner at home, and it’s not usually a huge deal. But there’s something so nice about having that special family time
First thing I’d buy after winning the lottery: A house! I live in a condo right now, which is great. But I would buy a nice big house with a walk-in closet, and a Stampeders themed sports/TV room
My biggest inspiration: There are several amazing women who I look up to in the legal profession. I cannot narrow it. There are women who are at my firm, at the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, and who are members of the judiciary who inspire me to push for equality, to challenge and confront bias, and to push back against stereotypes
Dream job: I actually love my job! But I always thought it would be cool to be a performer on Broadway
Celebrity I’d like to meet: Emma Watson or Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
One thing on my bucket list: I would love to snorkel or scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef
