Pro path

Murphy first signed with the Stampeders on Oct. 10, 2022, and finished the season on the practice roster. He signed with the XFL’s Orlando Guardians on Feb. 3, 2023. In 2021, Murphy played for the Sea Lions in the Spring League. He signed with the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars on Mar. 10, 2022, and was released on May 2, 2022.

2022

(Calgary) Murphy was added to the Stampeders’ practice roster on Oct. 10 and remained there for the rest of the season.

College

Murphy transferred to Memphis in 2018 and joined the Tigers’ football team as a defensive lineman after playing basketball for four seasons at Indiana State.

Personal

Murphy played 114 basketball games over seasons at Indiana State, averaging 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He played basketball at George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Ala., and helped the Wolverines win a state championship during his sophomore season. Murphy portrayed all-Pro offensive lineman Orlando Pace in the 2021 Kurt Warner biopic movie American Underdog.
