(Calgary) Hicks has played 15 games including one start at defensive end and has 12 defensive tackles including two tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, one knockdown and one special-teams stop. In his CFL debut in Week 1 against Hamilton, he recorded his first CFL sack when he brought down Bo Levi Mitchell. In Week 4, Hicks picked off a pass from Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros for his first CFL interception.

College           

Hicks played 38 games over three seasons at the University of Texas at San Antonio (2019-21). He was a first-team Conference USA all-star linebacker for the Roadrunners in 2021 after establishing a single-season school record with 10.5 sacks. Hicks also had 37 tackles and an interception. Over the course of three years at UTSA, he accumulated 108 tackles including 31 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions. Hicks transferred to UTSA after two years (2017-18) at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College. In 12 games with the Blue Dragons, he had 42 tackles, 14 sacks and two forced fumbles. Hicks was named a second-team Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference all-star in 2018.

Personal

Hicks is an alumnus of Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Fla. During his senior season with the Eagles, he had 47 tackles including nine tackles for loss, three sacks and a fumble-return touchdown.
