(Calgary) Despite being limited to nine games due to a knee injury, Barnes was Calgary’s nominee for the Most Outstanding Player award. He had 25 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown, 18 kickoff returns for 379 yards and two missed-field goal returns for 111 yards. Barnes’ 724 all-purpose yards were good enough to lead the team and place him in the CFL’s top 10 at the time of the injury. He made his professional debut in the season-opener against BC and had three catches. Barnes’ season high in receptions was five, which he accomplished in back-to-back July games against Saskatchewan and Ottawa. The contest against the Redblacks also featured his season-best of 87 receiving yards as well as his first CFL touchdown. Barnes missed the second half of the season after being injured in a Week 10 game at BC.
