Pro path
Nicolas was selected in the sixth round (203rd overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 National Football League draft. He played 11 games for the Chiefs in 2016. Nicolas missed the 2017 season due to injury and was waived on May 3, 2018. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks on May 16, 2018, and was waived on June 14. Nicolas signed with the Washington Redskins on Aug. 1, 2018, and was released at the conclusion in training camp. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts on May 14, 2019, was released on July 24 and re-signed by the Colts on Aug. 2. Indianapolis placed him on waivers on Aug. 20 and he was claimed by the Denver Broncos. He was released on Sept. 24, 2019.

College
Nicolas played 49 games over four years (2012-15) at Virginia Tech. He earned second-time all-Atlantic Coast Conference honours as a junior in 2014 after recording 71 tackles including 18.5 tackles for loss while adding nine sacks and one fumble recovery. For his career with the Hokies, Nicolas had 166 tackles including 36 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one interception.

Personal
Nicolas was born in Haiti and grew up in Florida. He attended Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, Fla., and only started playing football during his senior season. One of Nicolas’ position coaches at Virginia Tech was former Stampeders defensive line coach Cornell Brown.
