Howard signed with the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2021. He was released on May 17, 2021. Howard signed with the Toronto Argonauts on June 28, 2021, and was released on July 28, 2021. He had a second stint with the team later that year, joining the practice roster on Aug. 24, 2021, and being released on Oct. 15, 2021.

College

Howard played four seasons (2017-20) at Texas Tech, making 36 starts in 43 career games. He recorded 101 tackles including 21.5 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, eight passes defended, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one blocked kick for the Red Raiders. Howard was second-team all-Big 12 as a junior and a three-time all-Big 12 honourable mention, as well as a three-time academic all-Big 12 honouree. Howard sat out the 2016 season after transferring from North Texas.

                                                                                                                                                 

Personal

Howard attended Central High School in San Angelo, Tex., where as a senior he made 61 tackles including 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and an interception. He also earned district defensive MVP honours that season as he led the Bobcats to the regional finals. Howard began his high school playing days as a quarterback. At Texas Tech, he earned his undergraduate degree in business management and his master’s degree in personal financial planning.
