(Ottawa) Johnson appeared in all 18 regular-season games for the Redblacks and finished tied for third on the team with 10 special-teams tackles. He also had two special-teams stops. Johnson had three special-teams tackles against Toronto in Week 14. He was also in uniform for the Eastern Semi-Final and had one special-teams tackle.

 

2023

(Ottawa) In his first season with the Redblacks, Johnson played 11 games and had nine special-teams tackles and one forced fumble. He made his Ottawa debut at Montreal in Week 1 and had one special-teams tackle. Johnson had a pair of special-teams takedowns against Calgary in Week 2, against Winnipeg in Week 6 and at Toronto in Week 10. He had first career forced fumble in a Week 9 game at Saskatchewan.

 

2022

(Saskatchewan) Johnson played six games had one tackle for loss and four special-teams stops. He had a pair of special-teams tackles in a Week 10 victory over Edmonton.

 

2021

(Saskatchewan) Johnson appeared in six games for the Roughriders and led the team with 10 special-teams tackles. He also had eight defensive tackles and one sack. Johnson had two special-teams tackles in the season-opener against BC and had three special-teams stops, two defensive tackles and his first career sack against Hamilton in Week 2. He missed a total of eight games in three separate stints on the injury list but returned to the lineup for the regular-season finale in Hamilton and recorded six defensive tackles and two special-teams stops.

 

2020

(Saskatchewan) Johnson was under contract with the Roughriders but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

 

2019

(Saskatchewan) Johnson joined the Roughriders late in the season and saw action in two regular-season games as well as the Western Final. He had two special-teams tackle in the regular season and one special-teams stop in the playoff contest.

College

Johnson played his final two seasons (2017-18) at Texas. In 26 games for the Longhorns, he had 150 tackles including 22.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two passes defended. He transferred to Texas after two seasons at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College. He was a two-time conference all-star for the Conquistadors and finished his stint at Dodge City as the school’s all-time leader with 215 tackles.

 

Personal

Johnson is as an alumnus of Douglas (Ala.) High School. He also competed in track for the Eagles and was the Alabama Class 5A champion in the 100-metre event in 2015.
