Vaughters originally signed with the Stampeders on July 25, 2016, and was on the club’s practice roster until Aug. 10, 2016. He signed with the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2015, and he spent time on the club’s practice roster. He signed with the New England Patriots on Jan. 21, 2016, and was released on May 2, 2016.
(Calgary) Vaughters played 17 games (eight starts) and recorded 26 defensive tackles including three tackles for loss, six quarterback sacks, 15 QB pressures, six special-teams tackles, two knockdowns and a blocked convert. He began the season on the practice roster. Vaughters dressed for both post-season games, recording one special-teams tackle and one quarterback pressure in the Western Final and one special-teams tackle and one kickoff return for 12 yards in the Grey Cup.
(Calgary) Vaughters joined the practice roster on July 25 and remained there until he was released on Aug. 10.
Vaughters played linebacker for four seasons at Stanford (2011-14), appearing in 54 games and making 18 starts. He recorded 124 total tackles for the Cardinal, including 21.5 tackles for loss, as well as 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. As a senior in 2014, Vaughters had 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks including two-sack games against Utah and Maryland.
Vaughters starred in football and track at Tucker High School in Tucker, Ga., and helped the Tigers win a regional football championship during his senior season. He also excelled in academics as he was on the honour roll and was a two-time Georgia Merit Scholar.
