Vaughters originally signed with the Stampeders on July 25, 2016, and was on the club’s practice roster until Aug. 10, 2016. He re-signed with the Stamps on May 22, 2017, and remained with the club until he was released on Jan. 2, 2019, to pursue an opportunity in the National Football League. Before his time in Calgary, Vaughters signed with the NFL’s Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2015, and spent time on the club’s practice squad. He signed with the New England Patriots on Jan. 21, 2016, and was released on May 2, 2016. After his stint on Calgary’s practice roster, Vaughters attended training camp with the San Diego Chargers in 2016. Following a two-year stop in the CFL, Vaughters signed with the Chicago Bears on Jan. 8, 2019. He played 17 games with the Bears over the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Vaughters signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 3, 2021, and played 10 games during the 2021 campaign. In 2022, he attended training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 27 career NFL games, Vaughters has 33 tackles including two tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
(Calgary) Vaughters appeared in 16 regular-season games and recorded 24 tackles, two special-teams stops and five sacks. He had back-to-back two-sack performances against Edmonton in Week 13 and against Hamilton in Week 14.
(Calgary) Vaughters played 17 games (eight starts) and recorded 26 defensive tackles including three tackles for loss, six quarterback sacks, 15 QB pressures, six special-teams tackles, two knockdowns and a blocked convert. He began the season on the practice roster. Vaughters dressed for both post-season games, recording one special-teams tackle and one quarterback pressure in the Western Final and one special-teams tackle and one kickoff return for 12 yards in the Grey Cup.

Vaughters played linebacker for four seasons at Stanford (2011-14), appearing in 54 games and making 18 starts. He recorded 124 total tackles for the Cardinal, including 21.5 tackles for loss, as well as 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. As a senior in 2014, Vaughters had 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks including two-sack games against Utah and Maryland.
Vaughters starred in football and track at Tucker (Georgia) High School and helped the Tigers win a regional football championship during his senior season. He also excelled in academics as he was on the honour roll and was a two-time Georgia Merit Scholar.
