(Calgary) After spending the first nine weeks of the season on first the six-game injury list and then the practice roster, Saxelid made his Stampeders debut in Week 10. He has played five games and made three starts at left guard.

 

2023

(Hamilton) Saxelid dressed as a reserve offensive lineman for the Tiger-Cats’ season-opener. He spent the remainder of the season on the injured list.

 

2022

(Hamilton) In his first season with the Tiger-Cats, Saxelid played nine games and made a pair of starts.

 

2021

(Edmonton) Saxelid played and started 11 games for the Elks. He made starts at three different positions on the offensive line – left tackle, left guard and right tackle.

 

2020

(Edmonton) Saxelid was under contract with Edmonton but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

 

2019

(Edmonton) Saxelid dressed for all 18 games as a rookie and made five starts. He made his CFL debut in Week 1 at home against the Montreal Alouettes and his first career start came five weeks later at Montreal.

College

Saxelid played four seasons (2014-17) at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He played a total of 48 games for the Rebels and made 39 starts. He was a four-time academic all-Mountain West Conference honouree.

 

Personal

Saxelid holds Canadian citizenship through his mother Cheryl Fraser, who was born in New Brunswick. He is an alumnus of Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove, Calif., and played on both sides of the ball for the Wolfpack. Saxelid recorded 44 tackles and three sacks during his senior season.
