(Calgary) Vassett started the season on the practice roster and made his CFL debut when he was activated for a Week 5 home contest against Winnipeg. In 13 games, he punted 71 times for 3,551 yards – an average of 50.0 yards per kick, a new franchise single-season record – with three singles. Vassett had seven punts that pinned the opposition inside the 10-yard line, a long of 69 yards and a net average of 41.7 yards, which established a league single-season mark. He was the Stampeders’ nominee for Most Outstanding Special Teams Player and a West Division all-star. also served as the holder on place kicks. In the Western Final, Vassett punted five times for 245 yards with a gross average of 49.0 and a net average of 34.8 yards.

College

Vassett played the past two seasons at the University of Colorado after starting his collegiate career at Louisville. With the Buffaloes in 2024, Vassett averaged 43.7 yards on 53 punts and finished second in the Big 12 conference in both punts inside the 20 (19) and punts that covered at least 50 yards (15). He was a conference honourable-mention selection. Over four combined seasons at Colorado and Louisville – which included 22 games with the Buffaloes and 26 with the Cardinals – Vassett punted 218 times and averaged 43.7 yards per kick. He pinned the opposition inside its own 20-yard line 75 times and had 44 punts that covered at least 50 yards.

Personal

Vassett is a product of the Prokick program, which helps Australians earn opportunities at U.S. colleges. He is an alumnus of Warragul Regional College in Australia. After high school, Vassett worked in the construction industry as a glazier and played Australia rules football for a club team before getting the chance to attend an American university.
