2024

(Edmonton) Franklin attended training camp with the Elks. In two pre-season games, he accumulated eight tackles including one tackle for loss.

2023

(Edmonton) Franklin played eight games and made eight starts for the Elks, seeing action both at safety and the SAM position. He recorded 28 tackles and also had one interception and two knockdowns. Franklin made his CFL debut as the starting safety in a Week 7 game at Winnipeg and made four tackles. He had a season-high seven tackles and his first career interception in Week 19 against Montreal.

2022

(Ottawa) Franklin attended training camp with the Redblacks and participated in one pre-season contest, recording five tackles.

2020

(Calgary) Franklin was under contract with the Montreal Alouettes but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

2019

(BC) Franklin added the Lions’ training camp and played both pre-season games. He notched four tackles including one tackle for loss and also had one sack and one interception.

College

Franklin played two seasons (2016-17) at California. He played 22 games and made 14 starts for the Golden Bears, recording 60 tackles including two tackles for loss, one sack and nine pass breakups. He had a career-high nine tackles and one sack in a 2016 game against Texas. He enrolled at Cal after two seasons at Mesa (Az.) Community College. He earned first-team league all-star recognition during his second season with the Thunderbirds after notching 41 tackles and 12 pass breakups.

Personal

Franklin is a graduate of Chandler (Az.) High School. As a senior for the Wolves, he made 55 tackles and added two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
