(Calgary) Smith played two games as reserve offensive lineman. He began the season on the six-game injured list and he was moved to the practice roster for Game 7. He was on the one-game injury list for Games 8 and 17 and on the reserve list for Games 12-16 and 18.
(Calgary) Smith played 10 games (four starts) and had 10 tackles, three sacks and two knockdowns. He also played in the Western Final and dressed as the sixth offensive lineman in the Grey Cup. He was on the one-game injury list for Games 3-5, 9 and 18.
(Calgary) Smith played 17 games including 10 starts at defensive tackle and registered 10 tackles, a tackle for a loss of five yards and one sack. In Game 3 he played over half the game on the offensive line to fill in for injured players. He played 11 games on defence (#90) and six games on offence (#68). He was on the one-game injury list for Game 11. Smith also played in the Western Semi-Final and saw action at right guard. He also played in the Western Final.
(Calgary) Smith played 11 games and had 10 tackles, including three tackles for a loss of four yards and four sacks. He was named CFL Canadian player of the week when he recorded three sacks in the final regular season game. He was on the injury list for Games 3 and 4 and the reserve list for Games 6, 9, 10, 15 and 16. Smith played in the Western Final and recorded two tackles. He also played in the Grey Cup.

Smith was a two-way player at Concordia, playing both offensive guard and defensive tackle for the Stingers. During his CIS career, he totalled 68.5 tackles and 13.5 sacks. In 2013, he played seven games and registered 13 tackles, three assisted tackles, one sack and five tackles for loss. In 2012, Smith had 28.5 tackles, seven sacks and one forced fumble in nine games. The 2011 campaign saw Smith register 25.5 tackles, 5.5 sacks and one forced fumble in nine games.
Smith is a talented musician and has sung and played guitar at Calgary nightspots. He played football at Birchmont Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto before his time with the Stingers.
