Pro path
John signed with the National Football League’s New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on Apr. 29, 2020. He spent time on the Giants’ practice squad during the 2020 season and re-signed with New York on Jan. 3, 2021. John had six catches for 72 yards for the Giants during the 2021 pre-season and he was placed on the injured list on Aug. 24, 2021. He was waived by the Giants on May 10, 2022, and claimed by the Chicago Bears the following day. The Bears released John on Aug. 16, 2022.
College
John played 34 games over four seasons (2016-19) at Simon Fraser. He made 132 catches for 1,928 yards and 20 touchdowns and was named SFU’s Most Valuable Player and offensive player of the year in 2019 after he led the NCAA Division II’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference in receptions (53), receiving yards (861) and touchdowns (10).
Personal
In high school, John was a provincial football all-star at Vancouver College. He also played basketball for the Fighting Irish.
