In his 32nd season with the Stampeders, Folan oversees the team’s video department. He and his staff are responsible for producing and editing all game and practice footage for the football operations department using the DVSport system. He and his team also assist the coaching staff with football data and analytics. In addition to his in-season duties, Folan and his staff also compile video for the CFL draft and U.S. college scouting.
In 2019, Folan was the first winner of the Jane Mawby Tribute Award, a CFL honour which recognizes a longtime team or league employee who demonstrates consistent high performance and resilience while working tirelessly behind the scenes. The award honours the memory of Jane Mawby, who was a member of the Stampeders organization for 28 years before passing away in 2015.
In 2022, Folan was honoured by Football Alberta for his involvement in high school and minor football in the Calgary area as he received the Rob and Grace Zittlau Media Award.
Folan joined the Stampeders in 1990 and three years later became responsible for providing the coaching and player personnel staffs with their video and technology. In between stints with the Stamps, Folan attended Utah State University while working for their football and athletic programs.
He has been part of five Grey Cup-winning teams during his time with the club.
Folan graduated from Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School in 1992. He also played football for E.P. Scarlett and the bantam Colts. Ross and his partner Paige are native Calgarians and continue to reside in the city.
