Calgary native Altilio returns to the Stampeders organization after spending the 2019 season as the BC Lions’ special-teams coordinator.

In 2019, Lions place-kicker Sergio Castillo earned CFL all-star honours as he led the league with a 91.1-per cent success rate on field-goal attempts. In addition, BC was tied for third in the CFL with three kick-return touchdowns.

Altilio was a special-teams assistant for the Stamps in 2016 and served as the team’s strength and conditioning coordinator in 2017 and 2018. Altilio started his coaching career as special-teams coordinator for the University of Calgary in 2011 and served in that role through 2015. He returned to the Dinos as special-teams coordinator in 2017.

A graduate of Calgary’s Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School, Altilio was a receiver during his playing career and played collegiately at the University of Saskatchewan before transferring to the University of Calgary. He has been a part of 10 Canada West championship teams as a player and coach and made six trips to the Vanier Cup.
