Stamps sign pair of defensive backs

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive backs Tommie Campbell and Osagie Odiase as free agents. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Campbell has 44 games of National Football League experience with the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was selected in the seventh round (251st overall) by the Titans and played 37 games from 2011-2013, recording 29 tackles. Campbell played seven games for Jacksonville in 2014 and had eight tackles and one forced fumble.

Campbell completed his collegiate career with one season (2010) at California University of Pennsylvania. In 12 games, including four starts at cornerback, for the Vulcans, he had 29 tackles and two interceptions and was invited to take part in the Division II Cactus Bowl.

Odiase played with the Arena Football League’s Portland Thunder in 2015 and recorded 63.5 tackles and one interception in 14 games. Collegiately, he played four seasons (2010-13) at Sacramento State, dressing for 41 games and making 36 starts. He was named second-team all-Big Sky as a junior in 2012 after recording 55 tackles, one sack and a team-leading three interceptions in 11 games. Odiase had 52 tackles, seven pass breakups and three interceptions during his senior campaign.
