The Stampeders Foundation and the Calgary Stampeder Football Club, in conjunction with the Canadian Cancer Society, are proud to continue the PinkPower campaign.
PinkPower started as an initiative between the Canadian Cancer Society and the Stampeders in 2008 as part of a concerted effort to support the battle against women’s cancers and help raise awareness. Since its inception, the program has become a successful league-wide campaign with all nine CFL teams involved in their own markets. This initiative helps raise awareness about women’s cancers and ultimately raises money for research.
More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised for the Canadian Cancer Society in the first seven years of the Stampeders’ PinkPower program.
On game day, members of the Canadian Cancer Society sell limited-edition PinkPower Calgary Stampeders gear. All merchandise is on sale for $20 per piece and all the proceeds are directed to Canadian Cancer Society through the Stampeders Foundation.
To help raise awareness, the Stampeders use special pink avatars for their Twitter and Instagram accounts as well as their Facebook page during part of the month of October.
