Veteran DB Matt Bucknor added to practice roster

The Calgary Stampeders have signed national defensive back and fifth-year CFL veteran Matt Bucknor.

Bucknor has 63 games of CFL experience including 36 starts at cornerback for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers over the past two seasons. The Hamilton, Ont., native started his CFL career with two seasons for his hometown Tiger-Cats after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and was in uniform for the Ticats in the 2013 Grey Cup game.

Bucknor has 149 career tackles, including three tackles for loss, nine special-teams tackles, five knockdowns, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

He played five seasons at the University of Windsor and had 121 career tackles for the Lancers while adding 12 interceptions, including two interception-return touchdowns, and two forced fumbles.
