The Calgary Stampeders are proud to announce that the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta will be attending practice at McMahon Stadium on Thursday as part of the organization’s annual Stamps Day.

Approximately 30 kids and additional family members will be participating in a locker-room tour before watching practice. The event will conclude with an on-field autograph session featuring all Stampeders players.

“The Make-A-Wish Foundation does great work and the team looks forward to their visit on Thursday,” said Stampeders head coach Dave Dickenson. “I know the players will enjoy visiting with the kids and their families.”

Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta was founded in 1995 and began executing this special initiative with the Stamps back in 2009. To date in Southern Alberta alone, 466 wishes have been granted. More information is available at makeawishsa.ca

“Make-A-Wish creates positive experiences for children with life-threatening conditions through wish granting. A child’s wish can help the entire family create a lasting memory of togetherness and joy,” says Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta CEO Kim Anthony. “We are grateful to the Calgary Stampeders organization for welcoming us and helping to create more positive experiences for our wish children and their families.”

A representative of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a wish family will be available to speak to the media following Thursday’s practice.

Wishes are granted by the Foundation to those between the ages of three and 17 without any financial commitment on behalf of the families. In addition to a national office, eight regional chapters are located throughout the country. Approximately one wish is granted to a child in need each day from coast-to-coast.
