Stamps clinch playoff spot

The Calgary Stampeders have clinched a berth in the 2016 Canadian Football League playoffs.

As a result of Saturday’s 48-23 victory over the Ottawa RedBlacks, the Stamps are assured of at least a crossover position in the East Division.

It’s the 12th consecutive season the Stampeders have qualified for the playoffs. Going into the 2016 season, the BC Lions are the only other team that has qualified for the post-season every year since 2005.

The only longer streak in Stampeders franchise history is the period of 13 straight post-season appearances from 1989 to 2001.
