Offensive lineman added to practice roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added international offensive lineman Aslam Sterling to the practice roster.

Sterling attended mini-camp with the National Football League’s Denver Broncos in 2014 and this year was with the Arena Football League’s Cleveland Gladiators.

Sterling spent two seasons (2012-13) at Kansas University. He played in 24 games, including 20 starts, for the Jayhawks and saw action at right guard, right tackle and left tackle while helping pave the way for back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons by running back James Sims. Prior to Kansas, Sterling attended Nassau Community College and was an all-conference player in both of his years at the Garden City, N.Y., school.
