Mitchell named a CFL player of the month

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been named the Canadian Football League’s top player of the month for September. It’s the second consecutive month Mitchell has earned player-of-the-month recognition from the league.

The 26-year-old Katy, Tex., product led the Stamps to a 4-0 record in September as he completed 103 of 149 passes (a 69.1-per cent completion rate) for 1,440 yards with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Mitchell passed for at least 338 yards and two touchdowns in each September game and had a 114.5 QB rating for the month.

For the season, Mitchell has completed 328 of 484 passes for 4,297 yards with a league-leading 24 touchdowns in guiding the Stamps to a CFL-best 11-1-1 record.
