The Calgary Stampeders have a chance to make history when they conclude their regular-season schedule on Sunday with a visit to the Montreal Alouettes. Kickoff at Percival Molson Stadium is 11 a.m. MDT.

The Stamps (15-1-1) have a chance to break the CFL record for most standings points in a season. Calgary currently stands at 31 while the current league record of 32 was set by the Edmonton Eskimos in 1989.

The Red and White are already assured of the best 18-game record in franchise history as the Stamps finished 15-3 on four occasions — 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2014.

Calgary has won 14 games in a row and is unbeaten in 16 since a season-opening road loss against the BC Lions. The Stamps have clinched top spot in the West Division and will host the Western Final on Nov. 20.

The Alouettes (5-11) have been eliminated from post-season contention but they’ve shown improvement since former Stamps and assistant coach Jacques Chapdelaine took over as interim head coach on Sept. 19, posting a 2-2 record.

Both teams were winners in Week 18 — the Stamps wrapped up a 9-0 home season by downing the Toronto Argonauts 31-13 on Friday while the Als claimed a 19-14 decision against the Roughriders at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium on Saturday.

Calgary is 6-1-1 on the road this season and 6-0-1 against East teams. The Alouettes are 2-6 at home and 3-6 against the West.
