Getting to know Greg Wilson

Receiver Greg Wilson signed with the Stampeders in May 2015 and recorded 20 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown in six games.

Wilson saw his first CFL action on Aug. 1 at home against Montreal. He scored his first touchdown– a 10-yarder from Bo Levi Mitchell – during the Labour Day Classic with his parents in the stands.

Prior to coming north, Greg attended a rookie minicamp with the San Francisco 49ers in 2013 and later joined the Denver Broncos in time for the 2014 AFC Championship game as a member of the practice roster.

Wilson began his college career at Diablo Valley Community College before transferring to Fordham for two seasons. In 2011 he led the team with 539 receiving yards and in 2012 finished second in that category.

The California native graduated from San Ramon Valley high school in Danville where he competed in football and baseball. He earned a degree in Business Administration from Fordham.

We asked Greg to finish the following sentences with the first thing that came to his mind.

A product from an infomercial I would most like to own is… the Vita Bullet smoothie machine. I hear those things are the bees knees.

The reality show I’d most like to be on is… The Bachelor because… c’mon haha! But seriously it would be Duck Dynasty. I love the outdoors and I love duck hunting, so I think hanging with those guys would be pretty cool. Actually went on my first duck hunt with my girlfriend Kelsey and her dad Mike in Calgary last November.

My favourite breakfast is… I probably make the best cheesy eggs in North America but I’d have to say some French toast with some powdered sugar and endless bacon.

If I found $100 I would… probably just put it in my bank account… I’m a saver not a spender. Boring I know.

The last thing I bought online was… my plane ticket to go to Cancun this off-season. Can’t wait for that trip, I’ve never been.

I spend the off-season… training every day and golfing a few days a week with some fishing thrown in on the weekends. I’m working three days a week in the office doing project management/engineering for Conco, which is a concrete company based here in northern California.

The first car I ever owned was… a 1996 forest green Jeep Grand Cherokee. It had a lift kit and some mud tires. Feel free to YouTube Jeep Cherokee death wabbles to see what I went through a couple times a week in that thing. I loved that jeep though.

The last time I apologized was… probably to my girlfriend. Let’s face it, I’m a guy and when do we ever get anything right the first time!? Haha!

Of all the Stamps receivers, I am the… most likely to run into at your local World Health. Suns out, guns out.

I own a lot of… watches. I love watches; it’s very rare if you catch me not wearing one off of the football field.
