Stamps sign defensive lineman Zach Minter

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive lineman Zach Minter.

Minter played 10 games for the BC Lions in 2015 and made seven starts. He recorded 16 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and three sacks while adding one knockdown and one forced fumble. Minter was also in uniform for the Lions’ Western Semi-Final game against the Calgary Stampeders.

Minter signed with the National Football League’s Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and saw action in two games that season. He has also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys.

In college, Minter twice earned first-team all-Big Sky honours at Montana State, where he was a teammate of Stamps linebacker Alex Singleton. In 42 career games for the Bobcats, Minter had 120 tackles, including 31.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks and three interceptions.
